Website Update - Top 10 Page List for January 2012

Top 10 ListHere it is, the first top 10 list for this site for the new year. For the most part, things got back to normal. The Skeptical Look at MBT Shoes was back in the top 3. Autogyro History & Theory was back on top. Origin of Arabic Numerals is still generating lots of traffic. Most of the other entries had made it into the list before. The newcomer was Biplanes vs. Monoplanes, which is actually a little embarassing, because I wrote it a while ago, and got a few things wrong. I guess it's time to fix that page before I miseducate too many people.

Traffic picked up just a bit since December, and is in line with what it's been for the last year. But if I look at bandwidth instead visitors, it's actually up quite a bit. In fact, it's the second highest month for bandwidth I've ever had. I'm sure that coincides with the Casio EX-F1 Review getting more hits, since people are downloading a lot of the videos from that review.

As a side note, this will likely be my only post this week. It's just been too hectic of a week here at work, and I've been lucky to sit down and just eat my lunch without interruption, let alone have enough time to write anything.

Anyway, here are the 10 most popular pages from this site for January 2012.

  1. Autogyro History & Theory
  2. Blog - A Skeptical Look at MBT Shoes
  3. Blog - Origin of Arabic Numerals - Was It Really for Counting Angles?
  4. Factoids Debunked & Verified, Part II

Website Update - Top 10 Page List for December 2011

Top 10 ListI'm back from the holidays. I know I didn't get anything posted last week, but that's because I was off from work all last week spending time with my family. And I don't really have anything big for this week because I've been so busy at work. But at least this entry is something.

There was quite a mix up in the top 10 list this month. Two of the pages hadn't made the list before - Ray Comfort: Quote Miner Extraordinaire and Response to an E-Mail Supposedly Summarizing Dr. Charles Krauthammer's Views on Obama. In addition, the order was mixed up quite a bit from the trend it had been falling into. The MBT entry was down to 9th, while the blog entry, Origin of Arabic Numerals - Was It Really for Counting Angles?, made it to the top spot for the first time.

Traffic dipped just a bit in December, back to just about the same as last July, but still not too far out of line with what it's been for the last year.

Anyway, here are the 10 most popular pages from this site for December 2011. And hopefully, I can get back to making substantive posts again next week.

Website Update - Top 10 Page List for October & November 2011

Top 10 ListI try to do this Top 10 update every month, but I just completely forgot to do it a month ago. So, the Top 10 list for this entry is actually two Top 10 lists, one for October, and one for November.

As far as overall traffic, the site just keeps on plugging along about the same. Based on average per day (since some months have more days than others), October had a slight dip in traffic, but November had a slight increase to above what it had been in September.

The top 3 seems pretty solidifed for now. I was a bit dissapointed to see the Ray Comfort entry dip off the Top 10 in November, but I was happy to see the chicken enchilada page make it back in.

Anyway, here are the 10 most popular pages from this site for October 2011.

  1. Autogyro History & Theory
  2. Blog - A Skeptical Look at MBT Shoes
  3. Blog - Origin of Arabic Numerals - Was It Really for Counting Angles?
  4. Blog - Running AutoCAD R14 in XP Pro 64
  5. Factoids Debunked & Verified
  6. Blog - Ray Comfort - Still Ignorant on Evolution
  7. Blog - Letter to Pharmacy about MBT Shoes
  8. Blog - My Favorite Airplanes
  9. Factoids Debunked & Verified, Part II
  10. Programming

And here are the pages from November 2011.

  1. Autogyro History & Theory
  2. Blog - A Skeptical Look at MBT Shoes
  3. Blog - Origin of Arabic Numerals - Was It Really for Counting Angles?
  4. Blog - Running AutoCAD R14 in XP Pro 64
  5. Factoids Debunked & Verified
  6. Blog - Letter to Pharmacy about MBT Shoes

Website Update - Top 10 Page List for September 2011

Top 10 ListAnother month has come and gone, marking the time I go to the server logs to see how popular this site has been. Overall, traffic's still about the same - just a slight increase over August. I have noticed a weird trend. Some of these Top 10 lists are getting quite a few hits, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless it's spambots. Oh well. So, I've decided to leave the Top 10 lists out of the main list below, since they don't really have any content.

Oh, and it's worth pointing out that one of my blog entries from 2011, Email Debunking - Tips on Pumping Gas, has finally made the top 10. So I'm happy about that.

Anyway, here are the 10 most popular real pages from this site for September 2011.

  1. Autogyro History & Theory
  2. Blog - A Skeptical Look at MBT Shoes
  3. Blog - Origin of Arabic Numerals - Was It Really for Counting Angles?
  4. Blog - Email Debunking - Tips on Pumping Gas
  5. Factoids Debunked & Verified
  6. Blog - Running AutoCAD R14 in XP Pro 64
  7. Blog - Response to Anti-Liberal Article by Gary Hubbell
  8. Blog - Letter to Pharmacy about MBT Shoes
  9. Blog - My Favorite Airplanes
  10. Programming

Here are the 'Top 10' pages that would have made the list and bumped a few of those pages above off.

  1. Blog - Website Update - Top 10 Page List Updated for May
  2. Blog - Website Update - Top 10 Page List for April 2011
  3. Blog - Website Update - Top 10 Page List Updated for December

Website Update - Top 10 Page List for August 2011

Top 10 ListIt's that time of month again when I go looking at the server logs to see how popular pages on this site are. Things are pretty consistent with months past. There were, however, two pages to the top 10 list that hadn't made it before - Blog - Further Musings on the Soul and Blog - Lunar Eclipse on the 2010 Winter Solstice.

Overall traffic was much the same - up just a few percent from the previous month, but still below the all time peak.

As long as I'm discussing August, and since I discussed temperature in the previous Top 10 update, I might as well mention that the heat wave is still ongoing. All but 2 days in August had high temperatures exceed 100ºF here in Wichita Falls. The heat wave may finally be breaking, however. Monday is predicted to be a nice, cool 88ºF. I might have to break out a sweater. What we really need, though, is rain. This has been the worst wildfire season on record, and without a lot of rain, it's not going to get better anytime soon.

Anyway, here are the 10 most popular pages from this site for August 2011.

  1. Autogyro History & Theory
  2. Blog - A Skeptical Look at MBT Shoes
  3. Blog - My Favorite Airplanes
  4. Blog - Origin of Arabic Numerals - Was It Really for Counting Angles?
  5. Factoids Debunked & Verified
  6. Blog - Further Musings on the Soul
  7. Blog - Running AutoCAD R14 in XP Pro 64
  8. Blog - Book Review - Voyage of the Beagle
  9. Blog - Crazy E-mail - Cash for Clunkers
  10. Blog - Lunar Eclipse on the 2010 Winter Solstice
