EXPERIENCE
June 2002
to present
Carter Aviation Technologies, Wichita Falls, TX
formerly CarterCopters
Engineer

-Designed several propellers- two to completion, including the "scimitar" propeller, and many preliminary designs. Developed an Excel program to design & analyze propeller performance, and another Excel program to analyze propeller structure.
-Helped design two rotors, including the new "extreme mu" rotor. Developed an Excel program to analyze rotor structure. Helped develop a patent pending mechanical system to automatically control rotor pitch.
-Developed an Initial Aircraft Sizing Program in Excel, to predict aircraft size and performance.
-Participated in layout design for several aircraft concepts.
-Extensive experience creating parts in Solidworks, including lofting to create fuselages and propellers.
-Used COSMOS Works finite element analysis software for stress analysis of parts.
-Used CFDesign complex fluid dynamics software for aerodynamic analysis of fuselages.
-Extensive experience with AutoCAD R14 for 2D drafting.
-Tuned the CarterCopter's LS-1 engine, in both turbo-charged and naturally aspirated variants. Used LS-1 Edit and EFI Live software to edit the PCM. Developed a patent-pending method of incorporating EGT sensors to modify O2 sensor signals to maintain a constant EGT temperature.
-Flight Test Director during flight testing of aircraft.
-Modeled the CarterCopter in the X-Plane flight simulator software. Developed a Visual Basic program to interface with X-Plane to simulate the CarterCopter's automated controls, and used that program to develop those controls before flying them on the real aircraft.
-Co-webmaster from June 2002 to August 2004. Took over primary webmaster responsibility in September 2004. Created website weekly updates from October 2003 to present. Completely overhauled website in November 2004.

-Used proprietary software to analyze defense capabilities of several systems (air, land & sea-based missiles, lasers, etc.) at several locations versus various targets launched from different locations
-Used Excel extensively to analyze data exported from propietary software. Developed several Excel macros for analysis.
-Used Adobe Photoshop to aid in analysis using maps of certain regions.
-Used Powerpoint extensively to present data from analyses.
